Why China?
Hello everybody! Thank you for your interest on this new adventure that Pat and I are starting. All of our family, especially our sons, have been super supportive and excited for us!
Why China? I was reading a blog on the Illinois Principal’s Association and someone was looking for an elementary principal in China. I forwarded it to Pat who said go for it. I asked for more information and it was a perfect fit for me, building off of my experiences at P. H. Miller. After 4 Skype meetings – 8:00 here and 7:00 in China it was official! I am going to Zhenghou, China to implement an American Curriculum of Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies in a private Chinese School.
The timing is perfect for us. The boys are doing great, we have no grandchildren (we do have lovely grand puppies) and visiting China is on our bucket list!
We will be living on the Kinglee High School campus, I will have a driver to take me to Hanghai Elementary School. Pat is solidifying Sales Babble and exploring ways to make that work for him.
Who I Am
I believe the fundamental responsibility of an educational leader is to provide all students an education that will take them as far as they can grow.
In my mind it is based on three pillars:
1. Compassion
2. Integrity
3. Commitment
Without trust you cannot lead. When it comes to the future of our youth, failure is not an option.
Educational leaders must continue to find a path that ensures teachers can teach, so students can learn.
With dedication, passion and tenacity I believe all children have the right to learn.
